My core goals are directed at delineating the brain mechanisms that mediate the relationship between self-regulation and health. Specifically, my research is focused on determining the brain mechanisms associated with mindfulness meditation-related pain relief and health promotion.
Impressions and Experiences in the Health Psychology Program:
My tenure at UNCC’s Department of Psychology was a wonderful experience. The educational standards provided me a comprehensive approach and understanding of the intersection between behavior and health. I was also highly encouraged by my mentors to fully pursue my research interests and goals with the highest level of mentoring to facilitate my development as a researcher.
